Tulip Festival

Yesterday we visited Woodburn's Spring Tulip Festival. It was a treat for all of us. We loved the beautiful never ending fields of tulips and Kabu enjoyed the carnival- like atmosphere with the cow-train and all the other fun stuff for kids to do. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Welcome spring! Time to catch up..

Its been a month since I posted any pictures or videos. During this time, we made two trips out of town and enjoyed some gorgeous weather while we were in Portland. The result is that I have more photos/videos of Kabu than I can possibly manage.

I'm going to post some random videos in this post just to get started. Most of these were taken in the last week or so. I am curious to know reactions of friends and family since you're seeing Kabu after a month long gap! Does he look different? taller? bigger? leaner? More like me? ;-)

We spent last Sunday afternoon in this great park close to home. I had fun watching them play basketball except that one of the players kept running off the field with the ball!

Fantasy blocks

Kabu got a lovely box of Fantasy blocks as birthday gift from his bua & bhurosa. We opened it a few weeks ago. He likes to touch the colorful blocks and has some clear favorite ones. But as with most of his other toys, he seems to play more with the packaging than with the toy itself :-(

Birthday Pictures

Kabir completes 13 months tomorrow! A good reason to finally post pictures from his first birthday...only a month late :)
We had his planned birthday party on Sunday Feb 8th at the Children's Museum where we had a celebration with all of Kabu's little friends.
The following day, which was his actual birthday, we ended up having an impromptu party when some friends dropped in to wish Kabir.

Kabu talking trash

A few days ago, Kabu started saying one word repeatedly- "kutta". We were surprised and embarrassed about how he had picked up this word. He would say it in front of us and our friends and we would have to explain that "no, he didn't pick this from us". Until finally Saurabh decoded it. He was only trying to say "good job" (which he does hear a lot from us) and was mispronouncing it!

Below is my lame attempt at trying to make him say "good job" so I can save it on video and show him later when he grows up.
