Lucknow Dec 2019

Anurag and I made a short trip to Lucknow during Xmas to visit his cousins Amara and Miraya along with Mohit mama and Dina mami who were visiting from the US. Kabir couldn't come as he had football matches over the weekend.
We were in Lucknow after about 7 years - last time was for Mayur mama's wedding. We revisited the Bada Imam bada and bhool bhulaiya which we had visited with Mohit and Dina in our last trip when Anu and Amara were little toddlers and Miru wasn't even born.

Meet Joseph and our little shepherd

 The IIT Staff club X'mas program was organised again this year by some very talented ladies. Kabir played Joesph in the nativity scene and Anurag was a shepherd. Here's the link to the entire program.

We had our annual Christmas program in IIT today in which campus kids perform songs and dances taught to them by some very talented parents. Kabir was a (somewhat distracted) shepherd in the nativity scene and was part of the kids singing group. Anurag too was part of the kids group but decided that he didn't want to be on stage.

Xmas singing

This weekend turned out to be one packed with action, the highlight of which was the Xmas program at IIT Staff Club organized by some really talented women on campus. Kids had been practicing for this for a month. On Saturday, they presented the program at the Staff Club and today they made a trip to the local Asha chapter for yet another program. The main program included carol singing, dancing and skit by older kids and ofcourse meeting with Santa.

Kabir was dressed as an angel and was one of the younger kids in the group. His favourite songs were: I'm an angel, Go tell it on the mountain and King seekers travelling. After these first three songs in the sequence Kabir couldn't wait to be done. Soon after, he ditched his buddies and ran over into the audience section and sat next to me, which was all the more funny because his friends in the singing group started calling him back as he vigorously shook his head :)

He was visibly bored by this song and can be seen signalling that he wants to come and sit in the audience
