First words

Anu has started saying his first few words. His first word was "tata" (accompanied with a wave), which he has been saying for a while now. The other two words that he says, predictably, are "mama" and "papa". While "mama" is reserved for the rare occasions when he is in distress, "papa" has become a new favourite.

Below is a rather cute video of the two boys vying for papa's attention. Papa's attention, alas, is on the live World Cup Cricket match streaming on his laptop :-)

Rang Barse

Kabir and Anurag celebrated their first Holi last Sunday. They were a little afraid at first but soon got the hang of it!

Dear Sleep, my long lost friend

Where have you been? There was once a time when we were best friends and at the end of every tiring day, I could count on you to be there for me. But since the last three years (ever since Nursing came into my life), you have remained elusive. Please, come back and make friends with me again. Remind me what it was like to embrace you in an effortless manner. Please let tonight be the night when you come to me and leave me rejuvenated.

Anurag's birthday parties

We held a small, informal pool party on the terrace to celebrate Anurag's first birthday on March 8th. It was only appropriate to put the water baby back into a tub of water on his first birthday!

Kabir was happy to get the pools ready for the kids

The birthday boy enjoyed his brief stay in the pool (had to be brief because of the cold he is still fighting)


As was expected, Kabir refused to step out of the pool till it was time to eat the cake!


On an earlier weekend, we also held a more formal birthday party.

We felt fortunate to have close family, and good friends - both old and new- with us to celebrate this day. More pictures are on Facebook here and here
